Appointments

Cancelling your Appointment      If you are unable to attend an appointment, please use the link on this website or call us on 01332 271212 to cancel your appointment. 

Out of Hours     

If you require emergency treatment for a potentially life-threatening condition you should dial 999 and ask for the ambulance service.  The following conditions are considered potentially life- threatening: 
Chestpain
Loss of consciousness  Breathing difficulties   Severe   loss of  blood

For any other condition which you feel cannot wait until your GP Surgery reopens, you should contact the Out Of Hours Service on 08444 122239 . Your call will go to our local out-of-hours service, Derbyshire Health United.
Depending on your problem, you may go on to speak to a nurse or doctor.  Where possible you will be dealt with in a single call, but when the service is very busy someone may call you back.
You may be asked to attend an appointment at the out-of-hours service headquarters on Duffield Road.

FLU CLINICS

We are holding our seasonal flu, and Swine Flu clinics now.

If you, or a relative, are a Patient of our Practice and meet the criteria below, then you will receive a letter inviting you to attend our seasonal Flu clinics.

YOU MUST BRING YOUR LETTER WITH YOU TO THE SURGERY IN ORDER TO BE VACCINATED.  IF YOU DO NOT BRING YOUR LETTER, THE VACCINE WILL NOT BE ADMINISTERED

If you, or a relative, are a Patient of our Practice and meet the criteria for Swine Flu vaccination, then you will also receive a letter inviting you to attend our Swine Flu clinics.  PLEASE NOTE THAT The criteria for eligibility for a Swine Flu vaccination differs from the criteria for seasonal flu vaccination.

The national policy is that SEASONAL influenza (not Swine Flu) vaccine should be offered to the following groups:

i) all those aged 65 years and over

ii) all those aged 6 months or over in a clinical risk group (listed below)

iii) those living in long-stay residential care homes or other long-stay care facilities where rapid spread is likely to follow introduction of infection and cause high morbidity and mortality. This does not include prisons, young offender institutions, university halls of residence, etc.

iv) those who are in receipt of a carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.

This should be given on an individual basis at the GP’s discretion in the context of other clinical risk groups in their practice

Clinical risk groups 2009/10

Chronic Respiratory Disease and Asthma that requires continuous or repeated use of inhaled or systemic steroids or with previous exacerbations requiring hospital admission

Chronic heart disease

Chronic renal disease

Chronic liver disease

Chronic neurological disease*  GPs should consider on an individual basis the clinical needs of their patients including individuals with multiple sclerosis and related conditions, or hereditary and degenerative disease of the central nervous system.
