Our Patient Participation Group are a group of volunteers, all Patients of the Practice, who assist us at various times throughout the year with non-clinical Patient information events and feedback, and who are very active with their fundraising events, holding regular Book Stalls and Cake Stalls.
In 2008 they donated £500 to the Practice which was put towards the purchase of a Defibrillator (a machine that can restart the heart by giving an electric shock in the event of a Patient having a cardiac arrest).
Members of our Patient Participation Group (Back row from left to right) Mr Gordon Kirk, Mrs Pat McCann, Mr Tom Tanner (Treasurer), Mrs Joan Waldron (Practice Operations Officer), Mrs Brenda Blood, Mr Keith Blood (Front row from left to right) Mrs Iris Brabrook (Secretary), Mrs Freda Slater (Chairman).
The Practice would like to thank them for all the help and support they offer us throughout the year.
Spirometer Donation In Memory Of Mr Bernard Whitehouse
One of our Oakwood Patients (Mrs Doreen Whitehouse) and her son Michael made a contribution towards the cost of a Spirometer that can help diagnose various lung conditions, most commonly COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) for the Practice. They can be seen below presenting the Spirometer to Dr Birch (right of picture) and Sister Julie Watts (left of picture).
The Practice would like to sincerely thank them for this kind donation.
