ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS?

DID YOU KNOW?
You don't need to wait to see a doctor for certain conditions - you can get advice and treatment direct from your pharmacist with the Pharmacy First scheme.
Your pharmacist is now able to prescribe medicines for the symptoms listed above. They can also give you advice, treatment and over the counter medicines that have always been available.
THIS MEANS THAT...
- Your pharmacist can prescribe medicines without you visiting your GP
- You can save time by going direct to the phramacist.
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS JOIN
If you are entitled to free prescriptions the pharmacist will be able to supply medicine free of charge.
If you usually pay for prescriptions, you will be asked to pay for either the medicine or the prescription charge - whichever is cheaper.
HOW DO I REGISTER?
You can ask our receptionists for a registration form. You will be asked to take this form to a participating pharmacy and hand it in to the pharmacist.
The pharmacy will give you a Pharmacy First card that you will need to present each time you wish to use the scheme. Once you are registered you can go directly to the pharmacy next time you are suffering from one of the conditions listed.
CAN I GO TO ANY PHARMACY?
Not all pharmacies provide this service. When you register to join the scheme the receptionist will give you a list of pharmacies involved.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE PHARMACY?
Once the pharmacist has confirmed that you are eligible for the scheme, they will need to ask you some questions about your symptoms, you may be asked questions about other illnesses and medication you may be taking. This is to make sure that any medicines that are given to you are suitable.
ANY INFORMATION YOU GIVE TO THE PHARMACIST IS CONFIDENTIAL.
REMEMBER! Your pharmacist is providing advice and / or treatment in line with the Pharmacy First Minor Ailments Scheme for your symptoms.
If your symptoms persist you should seek further advice from your GP.
